Need a project? Ever
fancied owning a bus to restore?
THIS PROJECT HAS NOW FOUND A NEW HOME AND WE WISH THE NEW OWNER MANY HAPPY
HOURS OF RESTORATION.
We were sent the following details of a bus in need of
restoration. It was living in Wiltshire and had been part
restored. As it is such an interesting project and one-of-a-kind we have
left the details on for information.

This 1932
Leyland
Lion LT5/1005 Bus was run by the Preston
Corporation as a Bus then a Mobile Library until 1966. The bus has a new Esenes
Overhead Cam 5.94L engine (from the late Gordon Piatt) which runs but magneto
needs work, a new radiator core, believed to have original gearbox, new clutch,
new road springs, drums skimmed to factory tolerances, breaks relined, chassis
has been sand blasted and renewed and the main frame has also been renewed and
just needs panelling. Has set of 1930’s seats for the 7ft 6 body (which need
reupholstering). Original logbook, manual and vehicle history and photographs
included.
The bus was first registered on 01/07/32 and the owner
has the original logbook and a lot of history about the vehicle. We are told
that it is the only one left of its kind.
